Even before Jaws washed up in theaters, sharks had a pretty bad reputation as scary, people-eating machines that would rip innocent swimmers limb from limb. But (as with most reputations) that's not entirely true: as predators, sharks are an integral part of the ocean's eco-system, and attacks on humans are few and far between. Oceana enlisted Mad Men actress January Jones to voice these PSA's calling for shark awareness; in addition to this campaign, the organization focuses on decreasing the demand for shark fin soup, engaging bans on finning, and researching sharks by species.
