Margay, or Tiger Cat, a wild cat found in forest areas from northern Mexico to northern Argentina and Uruguay. The margay grows to 40 inches (1 m) long, including a 16-inch (40-cm) tail. It preys chiefly on birds, lizards, frogs, and insects. The margay is an endangered species due to indiscriminate hunting for its pelt.

The margay is Felis wiedii of the cat family, Felidae.
