Scientific name: Thayeria obliqua
The Penguin Fish grows to two inches and does well with other fish that are small and peaceful. The water temperature should be between 72º and 82º Fahrenheit. Soft to moderately hard water is fine, with a pH of 5.8 to 7.5. This species will not do well if the water quality begins to deteriorate.
The Penguin Fish eats all flake and freeze-dried foods. This South American species inhabits several river systems of Brazil. The female tends to be larger and has a fuller body.
